Waylon, "I'll go back to her" with Ralph M.

Post by Ray Minich »

Had the LP of Waylon's "Are you ready for the country" but this track had been damaged (of course, Murphy's Law) 20 yrs ago. Finally got the CD of it. Had to wait seemingly forever on backorder.

One track makes that whole CD worth the pursuit and long wait, and that's Ralph Mooney's work on "I'll go back to her".

What beautiful steel... It's a "gotta have it!" in my library.

("A Couple More Years" has some good "Mooney" steel on it too. )
[This message was edited by Ray Minich on 29 October 2004 at 09:08 AM.]

Yes it is and one of my favorite passes Mooney has done....Here is the solo for those that don't have it.

If you can score a copy of an old Wynn Stewart record called "Donna on my Mind" you'll find Ralph Mooney doing his thing and the funny thing is, it's the same melody just in a cajun type beat. Ralph Rules!!
