Notorious Cherry Bombs

Post by Jack Francis »

The Notorious Cherry Bombs were on the Today show this morning.

I was disappointed to see Hank DiVito playing guitar instead of steel. Since they had 3 other guitar players on stage, they hardly needed a fourth.

What a GREAT band they have though and it's refreshing to hear some good stuff being recorded and being showcased.
[This message was edited by Jack Francis on 04 September 2004 at 08:25 AM.]

There's a line in one of the songs that almost put me in the ditch when I heard it diving down I-90:
"It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chew your @ss out all day long"

I don't see that as a candidate for airplay however.... Image Image
[This message was edited by Larry Beck on 04 September 2004 at 12:16 PM.]

We have a wonderful subscription radio station in Alberta, Canada. I've heard "It's Hard To Kiss the Lips..." at least twice on this station. The station can be played on the internet:

Yes, they did do it on Leno's show...I guess being on that late at night they could get away with it,,,and,,, Hank played the steel on that show.

Several of the country station in Corpus are playing the song. Played in two local bands last weekend...both groups are doing the song. Has great steel parts in it.

They play the song on the Minneapolis country radio station late at night and the vid is also on VH1 Country as well as GAC. Entertaining song with pretty steel guitar.

I'll say 0ne thing about it, it's a whole lot more country than most of the material I hear on radio, and I heard it on the strongest and most popular radio station in Fort Wayne, Ind
