Congratulations to forumite Michael Bate for producing a fantastic Gram Parsons Tribute day at the Ottawa BluesFest.
From discussion groups to day long musical performances, it was a great day featuring Chris Hillman, Herb Pederson and Bernie Leadon, as well as other participating musicians The Brothers Cosmoline, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo, Oh Susanna, local alt-country group Fiftymen, and many others.
Thanks Michael, I enjoyed that so much.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the steel duties were handled with great taste by our own Burke Carrol, of the Brothers Cosmoline. I'd never heard them live before, and I was impressed. Burke, if you're reading this, I think your approach was perfect, and went a long way in conjuring up the feeling of a great era.
