Happy 4th..Star Spangled Banner MP3
As we celebrate the 4th this weekend lets keep our nations history in mind and keep all of our active Armed Services in our prayers. And lets not forget to thank those that have served previously.
I have good friend over in Iraq on Police Duty..Officer David Carleton from Charlotte NC. He's big he's ugly..and he carries a Gun ...the enemy should run just from the site of him !
Star Spangled Banner, I did this one about a year ago..I try to play it everyday, and we do open with it one many gigs.

Tony, I love hearing The Star Spangled Banner on steel. After I listened to it for the first time last night, I decided I wanted to play it on steel myself, so I went to my steel and played it solo, using my A pedal through the whole song. I played it at a show in Saluda, SC last November. Hearing the mp3 of you playing the Star Spangled Banner was awesome! It sounds great! Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel

Tony,
Truely fantastic, my hat's off to you.
Also a prayer for your friend David, and also all the guys and girls in service. The second time today that song has brought a tear, the first was when my 13 year old Niece,Katie Wallace sang it in Church this morning, very moving, wish you all could have heard her.
God Bless America!!!!

Oh Geeze Rick ! Not the tone thing again !!
YIPES !!
ok here we go..
it's not a Push Pull..It's not a Sho-Bud, it's not a Zum..none of those...
but it is a stock '96 Carter with no BCT ..
George L 66 E9th PUP and a George L 10:1 C6th PUP
ok..let the Cannonballs fly !
Thanks for the nice comments, the tune was recorded direct into a small cheap inexpensive easy to use Boss BR8 about a year ago. But I did write specific EQ and effects patches for the Steel..
T
PS, I love this Steel..Black D10 9+8..tons of music on it, I just need to find it ! I know it's in there somewhere..My buddy Joe Smith owned it before me and I'm still looking for the stuff he played on it...

Terry, thanks for the nice comment.
Although I have to ask..
You're suprised it was a Carter..even though you never heard one before ?
I am very pleased with this Steel..a mid 90's D10 with 9+8..before BCT came to be.
Positive action, excellent returns, and the dang thing stays in tune and doesn't eat strings. Oh..and I too think it has a very acceptable tone. Perhaps not the best on the planet but people are not leaving the clubs due to the tone of the Steel.
I have 2 amps ( Fender Tube and Peavey N1000 ) and the Steel sounds totally different thru each of them so I would always contend that the final tone is never just the Guitar alone, it's only 1 part of the equation.
Put my rig in "E's" hands or Loyds..and you will hear music that the minions would freak out over ! Now they may not be comfortable playing my rig but thats a different issue .
This was recorded direct about a year ago..
Stock George L E66 PUP..
It's a nice rig for me and comfortable to play.
thanks

LOL! guess that did sound kinda stupid huh?
what I really meant to say, but just didn't want to say it in an ugly way,was I really didn't expect a Carter to sound that good.
but now I know they are great sounding guitars. I better shut up fore I get myself in hot water.
