Kenny Cheesy
I saw Kenny on stage with Mellencamp and though I'm not a big fan of either one, it was obvious that Mellencamp is a seasoned pro and the other fella is pretty weak.
Never did hear the steel.
Usually on these kinda shows each works with the others niche...Not so with this one it was all Mellencamp. (Probably just as well.)

My wife and I went to a Kenny Chesney concert a few weeks ago. He was appearing with Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban. We sat and listened to Dierks Bentley and enjoyed it. Keith Urban was tolerable, but not my favorite. When Kenny got on stage, he was nothing but one big ego trip with his struttin' around and considering himself "all that and a bag of chips". It was very disappointing. So disappointing in fact that we left the concert after 3 of Chesney's songs. We couldn't stand it any longer. Other than Dierks Bentley doing about 4 songs that really sounded like country music, I felt that I had wasted 100 bucks. Chesney's tour name is "Guitars, Tiki Bars and a Whole Lotta Love"....It should have been called..."Guitars, Tiki Bars and a Whole Lotta EGO"! Just my opinion.

Bruce, I can kinda' get a sense of that just from the interviews I've seen. It's funny, modern country music is the only profession where a 3 foot small, bald guy can be an arrogant prick and make a fortune doing it.
If he had any other job in the world, AND the same attitude, someone would have broke a leg off in his ass a LOOOOOOOOOONG time ago.

I don't care for Kenny's music too much,
but that doesn't make him a bad guy. Also, why is being bald such a crime? The vast majority of guys on this site are bald(I'm as bald as a billiard ball)and it hasn't hurt their playing any.
If you must hate someone, hate people who start wars that cause innocent people to get killed.

Andy,
Speaking for myself,I don't hate Kenny,or ANY bald people. I'm merely having a little fun w/ him. I'm Polish,& have put up w/ "Polack jokes" for years. I probably tell more & laugh more than ANYBODY at 'em. I also tell blonde jokes,Jewish jokes,Italian jokes, black jokes,Mexican jokes,etc.etc. I'm an "equal opportunity insultor". But,I probably tell MORE "Polack jokes" than anything. I,also, have a rather large nose,& I get more "flak" about that than anything. If we can't laugh at ourselves, then we have no right laughing at others. Why d'ya think they call me "Smiley"?

Did any of you see him with Willie Nelson the other night. They were singing "Stay All Night, Stay A Little Longer". It was Willie, Toby Keith and Kenny Chesny. The plan was, they would all sing a verse, lead ride, then the next guy sing a verse...etc. So there is Kenny, tight muscle shirt on, hat was just perfect....well the song finally got around to Chesney and he forgot the words! I was laughing my tail off, watching the pretty boy struggle on stage. Toby Keith finally bailed him out and started singing.
Nashville doesn't discover stars, it creates them, whether they are talented or not. If they shove an artist down our throats long enough, and if he looks good in tight jeans, he will be successful, Nashville will see to it. Unfortunatley, it's not really about the music any more. I still listen to the OLD stuff.
Sorry for the rant!

I used to cross paths with Jim Bob back in the 80's quite a bit. Both of our bands were based out of Billings, Montana at the time.
We opened for Andy Griggs last night, and after the show the promoter asked if we would open for Kenny Chesny later this summer.
Cool!?... Bummer!?...
Uhh... I'm going with Cool! on this one.
This is one of the biggest concert venues on the west coast.
Plus I get to see Jim Bob again!
