Step Right Up

Post by David Deratany »

Can anyone tell me which George Jones CD this is on? I heard Mountain Heart do it live in concert and it was as fine a piece as I have ever heard......sounded just like the man himself. Now I want to hear the source of it all.

TIA

David...
I think the title is "The Grand Tour". The first words are..."Step Right up, come on in, if you'd like to take the grand tour". A great Geo Jones classic.

I don't know which album that's from.
If you want to kill a few birds, just go to your local Walmart and they'll have a George Jones 16 Biggest Hits CD, you should find The Grand Tour listed.
Aaron Neville did a nice job with the song on an album entitled The Grand Tour.
Jay Dee Maness plays on Neville's version.
[This message was edited by David Cobb on 24 February 2004 at 04:36 PM.]

Thank you both. I just ordered a two CD set of the great one, and that song is on it.

George Jones' version was recorded on Columbia in 1974.

The song The Grand Tour was also the name of the album, it's been reissued on CD and I got my grubby little hands on it as soon as it came out.
