Well that sure brings me back to my old days.
A great tenor singer, maybe not castrati but not far. He sounds trained too.

Mellower than Drowning Pool my last hardcore rock purchase after hearing something on a movie sound track.

Love the industrial strength wall of Marshals too LOL. Reminds me of early Queen crossed with several California bands of the same type.
I also always liked double lead harmony guitars.

Not bad, they're right for the market.

Somewhere between Led Zep and Queen, but with a little more humour.
One of our lecturing team has played on the same bill with them - good guys who know their music and can play it.
Cheers

I have played a few gigs not far removed, back when.
We were more often less "metal image" effected, and a lot more philosophical in a read between the lyrics sort of way. But certainly rocking.
And who doesn't love a 1000w PAR in the face and 2,500 screaming people out there somewhere!

One group was very close to signing with Warners, when there was a personell accident and that was that. Around the height of the Pretenders / Joe Jackson period.

My ears don't like the decibles anymore, but I still like the music from time to time.
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 22 November 2003 at 03:27 PM.]

Yeah...Queen, with a little Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, and Metallica thrown in, that's how I read it. High energy noise bordering on music.

(I had to say something like that...Dave sort of expects it!) Image

Now, could we please have some Jimmy Day/Jerry Byrd clips on "Snakenet"? (Turnabout is fair play, isn't it?)

If I owned the copyrights I'd post some of the Jimmy Day clips I have in a heartbeat... but I don't. so I can't. So I won't.

there you go again Donny Image
A phrase I have used myself, but I was describing the steel guitar pyrotechnics of Speedy West ( no flames please, no Disrespect intended... I admired his incredible ability to make "noises" musical )

Guys it's great to see this post on the forum. The Darkness are the best band to come out of England at this time.At the moment we are in the grips of pop idol(american idol) so the charts are about to be flooded with more manufactured rubbish.Great to see you guys taking an interest.I play country but i'm a rocker at heart(you can take the boy out of rock but you can't take rock out of the boy)

Very strange, I rarely watch music channels on TV and suddenly there I was face to face with
The Darkness. Right out of the blue, bloddy strange wot!

And these other guys... well oh my
And least they are anti evil.. I think, either that or they don't know what their name means LOL. Boston is a huge college town and so the bands run the gammut.
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 25 November 2003 at 02:10 PM.]
