B-I-A-B Drone Question

I am trying to get a slow, Indian drone sound out of Band-in-a-Box and I'm not getting too far. I want a rippling tamboura type effect with roots and fifths only, and I can't seen to get rid of the thirds in the preset chords. The closest I've come is with the "strings" in a jazz tempo, but it still sound like a cheesy Casio. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this sound?
