I can't find old comments on this but it's the second rerun of the George Jones Birthday
celabration from Sept 7,2002 including performences from Jim Lauderdale and Allan Jackson.

Kenny Chesney, George Jones, Lee Ann Womack, and Jim Lauderdale will be featured too. Look for Rusty Danmeyer on steel with Lee Ann Womack, Tommy White playing on steel with Jim Lauderdale, Robbie Flint on steel with Alan Jackson, Tom Killen on steel with George Jones, and Jim Bob Garrett on steel with Kenny Chesney. Lee Ann Womack will tear your heart out and knock your socks off with her version of "These Day's I Barely Get By". Richard
[This message was edited by Richard Bass on 02 August 2003 at 05:06 PM.]

There was one steeler on that show that I particularly enjoyed. This goes to show how much attention I pay to singers, 'cause I'm not even sure which one he played for, but it might have been Alan Jackson.
He didn't look like a very tall guy, had greyish hair and a well-trimmed beard, and I think he was playing a Zum. Is that Robbie Flint ?
To my ears, one of the nicest vibratos I've heard. Man, I enjoyed his playing.

I hadn't seen this one before - it was the most enjoyable TV-Opry for a long time!

Lee Ann Womack is exceptional, in my opinion. Alan Jackson sang as well as I've ever heard him, and Jim Lauderdale is deserving of the highest praise.

There were lots of close-ups of the steels, too!

Wasn't the Zum played by Kenny Chesney's guy?

PS: It looked nice, but not as good as my black one! (Ooops, sorry! Wrong 'thread'.....)
[This message was edited by Roger Rettig on 04 August 2003 at 02:19 PM.]

Chesney introduced Jim Bob Garrett, just as the steel solo began on "Bartender Blues". Hats off to Jim Bob for a very tasteful solo. Great looking (red) and sounding Zum. And, hats off to Kenny Chesney for the acknowledgement to the crowd of a fine steel player.
