I missed hearing your who is on for last saturday. I'm too old to understand what I didn't watch last saturday night. I turned it on some guy came on with shirt mostly unbuttoned, hit a bass string, cranked the the tuning peg, and he may have been good, I don't know,I left. Guess I used to enjoy the entertainers that really cleaned up and dressed for the fans, like fans were somebody special. Many people dress better to clean their garage then some young performers do to perform on stage.

Janice, You stated not much of a steelers week. That is about the way it is every week on the Grand Ole Opry. It used to be a joy to tune in and watch Weldon play but on the Opry today I wonder if they know who Tommy White is. Tommy must be disappointed at the lack of playing time he gets especially on the tv portion. So I probably will pass watching the Opry Saturday because like most every other Saturday I consider it to be non-country music.

If you get the radio show the whole evening, there is plenty of Tommy and country music. The tv hour is Buchanan and Fishers attempt at being producers. Attempt is the right word.Contempt is a better word. But they are in the catbird seat.forrrr nowwww.

Lloyd Green will be on this portion of the Opry, backing up Robbie Fulks! At least that's what I just read in the Tennessean! Image Image Image

No matter how many times I hear and see Dan Tyminski sing his hit "Constant sorrow", It never gets old to me.

With so many great female artists available for the Opry to use ImageConnie,Jean,Holly,Jeannie Sealy, Jan Howard, The White's), why they would schedule someone like Jessica Andrews on the televised segment defies all reason! Sadly, many viewers conception of country music is what they see during this slot, they never listen to the great music presented throughout the rest of the program. The TV portion should contain our finest true country acts.

The frown face should be at the start of the post, of course. Connie, Jean, etc. only bring big smiles to all fans of REAL country music!
