Paul Franklin is Burning

Post by Bill Bailey »

I just wanted to get your attention. My darlin wife bought a new CD for me titled Buddy Jewell. I heard him on the Opry and she ordered the album. I haven't been so impressed with any newer singer as I have with this guy. The reason I am posting this is the album has a lot of really good songs. For me the highlight is the Paul Franklin and Brent Mason are the best I have heard for many a long time. The musicians as a whole are awesome, but you know what really turns my head is the deadly duo of Franklin and Mason. If you like hot smokin pickin, just listen to cut # 10, a song called "I can get by written" by Clint Black. I think Clint must have told these boys "Have fun and take your time" because I heard licks that boggle my little brain. The musicians are listed as follows.
Eddie Bayers: Drums.
Glen Worf: Bass guitar.
Biff Watson: Acoustic guitar& classical guitar.
Brent Mason: Electric Guitar.
Matt Rollings: Piano.
Paul Franklin:Steel Guitar & Dobro
Stuart Duncan: Fiddle & Mandolin.
Ans several background vocalist.
Additional musicians are too numerous for this late at night typer.
I hope you give a listen to this IMHO fantastic CD.
Take care all.

Bill,
It wouldn't surprise me at all, he is one pure singer, brings back memories of when I first heard Lefty, Merle, Allen, George and a lot of legends. By the way I have always liked the sound of someone saying to me "Won't you come home" Take care Bill.
