Yeah, I saw that. Hal Blaine is God as far as drums are concerned-a shame he's in that position, but 3 bad marriages will do that.

Interesting article.
I definitely use drum programming, But I prefer to do the arrangements like that,
and then have a good drummer do his parts with most of the band there.
Jean-Luc comes in and has a great feel to work with and does the parts much faster.

I still want the drummer, for that matter I AM a drummer too,
but I think my prefered drummer plays better with the whole arrangment than just a rhthm section chart. So I get a great amount of the arrangment in place 1st in the sequencer and then replace things. I still get a good feel, I am told.
Also I am not totally neurotic about "perfection"... just get the best performace from the players as THEY would do it... not my exactly imagined idea.
