The Electric Love Song

Post by Karlis Abolins »

I just listened to Hearts On Fire (by Walter Egan & Tom Guidera) and it reminded me of the type of song I used to look for and still do. It's the electric love song. I guess Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris did it for me with this song. Do you have any favorites that fit this category?

Karlis,
You would probably enjoy some of the Brooklyn Cowboys' stuff. Walter is a great singer and pretty decent guitarist as well. We opened for them recently and, in addition to meeting Walter, I got to meet Buddy Cage for the first time. A real treat.

Larry, I was listening to the Brooklyn Cowboys' version of this song on my way to work this morning. They do a great job of it and remind me very much of Gram Parsons and the Burritos. I just got off on a tangent thinking about the great electric love songs.

Pat, Paradise by the Dashboard light is a real hit too.
