Midi Bass ??

Post by Harry Busby »

Does anyone here use a midi bass track in any of their work. I'm trying to find a good voice for country. At present I'm using a Yamaha MU-5 sound module for voices which is works fine for our live jobs, but I'm trying to do some recording and can't seem to get the sound i want. What are you using?
Thanks

MIDI will probably never be the best choise for any musical instrument - especially stringed instrumnets. However, there are some pretty good samples (in soundfont format) at www.thesoundsite.net I use some of the drums and a few other samples from that site. MIDI bass is ok to get started while working on a track but the best sound comes from a good bass being played by a good player.

I have an Alesis Nanobass that is quite good with several patches.
