Gaylord doesn't own country music

Post by Karlis Abolins »

Let us not forget that country music is about playing and listening. Although a lot of us make a living playing country music, country music is ultimately about the music and not the business. If "Country Music" disappears from Nashville, it will surface elsewhere. You can't keep a good thing down.

Karlis,
I have to agree with you, however Gaylord does own the majority of the assets of the future of Country Music in "Music City"

And, the musicians that made the "Nashville Sound" are primarily located in Nashville.

I agree with you, Karlis -- Country music will survive, regardless of what ever else happens.

The Gay-Lords may not own country Music outside of Nashvile but they sure have a say in what kind of Country music is going to come out of Nashvile. I wonder how WSM ever stayed on the radio 70 years broadcasting Country music without the Gaylords.Gaylords are the Emron wantabe's.Bleed it dry then bail.Own any Gaylord Stock?

On my recent trip to Nashville, the thing that I enjoyed most (next to meeting Bobbe Seymour!) was being able to still go down on Broadway at 10:30 in the morning, have a beer (after all, I was on vacation!), and hear some good live country music. Image
