RIP Buzz Busby

Post by Stephen Gambrell »

I just heard on the radio, that Buzz Busby died back on Jan. 5th. Buzz was an underrecognized mandolin player, who was one of the founders of the Washington, D.C. bluegrass scene. One of his bands featured Charlie Waller and Bill Emerson, who left to form the Country Gentlemen. Buzz had his problems with the bottle, and a few scrapes with the law, but his talent was undeniable. His tremendous influence will be felt for a long time.
