Maurice Gibbs Dies in Florida
Now I know the BG's weren't country so please don't flame me on this. Over the years I have had to back up quite a few singers doing their songs and since they were known mainly as writers, they used a lot of good chord structureing in their work. I recall I would always feel challenged when one of their numbers was called because I knew this was going to be a lot more complex than the other songs were.
Regards, Paul

I think Maurice was the one who usually played bass or keys and sang the 3rd harmony part. Barry & Robin usually sang the leads unless I'm mistaken. Wasn't Robin the one who usually had his finger in his ear and sang the leads on "I Started a Joke"?? Is so, I thought he might have been the one who died. I just caught the end of the story on the news and heard Gibb and Bee Gees but didn't hear the first name. I love their music a lot and have for many years. Their song "How Do You Mend a Broken Heart" makes a beautiful steel piece when played right. Too bad for the family, losing the younger brother Andy and now Maurice.
