Johnny Bush Live CD

Post by Glenn Suchan »

Hey all you Texas honky-tonk music lovers! Over the weekend I bought a copy of a recent (new) Johnny Bush CD. It's called "Johnny Bush and the Bandoleros, Live". The guy at ET's Record Store in FT. Worth said it's a new release. In a word...IT"S GREAT!!!! It was recorded in 1979 at Dancetown USA in Houston. The Bandoleros were Randy Reinhard (piano), John Reynolds (Drums), Chuck Carson (Bass, vocals), Jimmy Harriss and Herbert Schattenberg (fiddles) and Rick Price on steel. The CD starts off with an introduction and launches into a medley of "What A Way To Live", "Undo The Right", "Put Me Out Of My Memory", "Release Me", and "Sittin' And Thinkin". Then it launches into a medley of "Drivin' Nails In My Coffin", "From Tennessee To Texas" and "John Henry". AND THAT"S JUST THE BEGINNING!!!! Image

The only thing I'll say about this CD is... BUY IT!! You'll thank yourself for money well spent!!!

Keep on pickin'!

I have this album on record. THE best live country album of all time, in my opinion. The Bandoleros are so tight on this album its scary. Rick Price hardly misses anything on this record. I am really glad its on CD now.

I used to have this and lost it. I have been looking for it to be put out in cd format for quite some time.
It is definitley one of the best live C&W recordings ever. Does anybody know if Johnny Paycheck's live album, "New York Town", has been put in cd format? It is right up there with this Johnny Bush live recoring.
[This message was edited by Bob Watson on 25 November 2002 at 11:56 PM.]

[This message was edited by Bob Watson on 25 November 2002 at 11:59 PM.]

Doesn't anyone else call this The Orange Album?

Ahh..."Whiskey River," melody intact, and minus the herky-jerky beat.

I have just received all of Johnny's available CDs all personally signed by Johnny. Definitely one of my favourite singers. A true Texas troubador. Great steel players, Buddy, Jimmy etc but also less well known pickers. Listen to Dicky Overby's playing on the "Green Snakes" Cd
