J. D. CROWE BANJO CAMP IN PHILO FEATURES J. D. CROWE, TOM ADAMS, MURPHY HENRY and BILL EVANS

The J. D. Crowe Banjo Camp is a new weekend-long camp designed for all levels of bluegrass banjo players, scheduled for January 24-26, 2003 in Philo, CA, 2 1/2 hours north of San Francisco in the rolling hill/wine country of the Andersen Valley. Teachers are J. D. Crowe, in his first ever West Coast workshop appearance, Tom Adams, Murphy Henry and camp director Bill Evans.

Three days of intensive but fun group instruction, jamming and concerts are planned that will focus on learning hands-on skills that will help any level player. Topics include J. D.'s contributions to the banjo in addition to Tom Adams' style, the Murphy Method and more. Learning leads, back-up, hot licks, daily slow jams, J.D.'s approach to the banjo, set up and more are included.

The J. D. Crowe Banjo Camp will be held at the Shenoah Springs Retreat Center, adjacent to the redwood forests of Hendy Woods State Park, in the small town of Philo, 32 miles west of Rt 101 at Cloverdale. Relaxing private and semi-private lodging and unbelievable gourmet, California cuisine meals are included. Early registration deadline is December 1.
