Song lyrics needed

Post by Tim Rowley »

Would someone be so kind as to provide the complete lyrics to the Billy Walker hit "Word Games"? I can't find it on ANY of the lyric sources on the internet, not even on the Billy Walker website. Yesterday a fellow gave me the lyrics from memory but I'm not absolutely sure they're correct. Basically the song consists of the chorus, first verse, chorus, instrumental solo, second verse, and chorus. I'm not aware of any third verse. Unfortunately I don't have the recording and can't find a version to download. Wonder why this song is so hard to find? BW still does it on most of his live shows and it was a pretty solid hit for him back in the 1970's. Thanks very much for the help.

I used to work for Billy and all I remember are the 1st and 3rd lines of the chorus.
(the ones with harmony)
Billys office # is listed in the phone book
and I'm sure he'd sing it to you over the phone. Image

Tony,

Nope, it's not on Cowpie nor anywhere else on the net that I can find. That's why I was hoping someone on here could just rattle off the words.

Billy Whiteshoes, I'll bet that I probably could call BW and he would at least get a good laugh out of the deal! Fact of the business is that I need to get a current Nashville phone book anyway, so if you've got a spare one please mail it up to me. Actually I just talked to him two weeks ago and if I'd known then that I'd be needing the lyrics I could have asked him in person. Oh well.

Seriously, I do need to make sure that I have the lyrics correct.
