What are some of your favorite "album filler" songs?
It is in my opinion some of the best country music ever recorded were tunes recorded with the sole purpose of filling up albums. Let's all name some of our favorite "filler songs" I'll start:
Mel Tillis- "Scarlet Wings" from his "Stomp Them Grapes" LP (4/4 shuffle)
Loretta Lynn- "The Only Time I Hurt" from her "Woman of the World" album
Buck Owens "Let The Sad Times Roll On" from his "Tiger By The Tail" album
There's three to get this thread started, now what are some of your favorites? Jason

Four songs that come to mind are
"When love was Green", off of George Jones sings Dallus Frasier.
"It should be easier now", by Ray Price
"Poor boy" by Johnny Paycheck on Hilltop records.
and "She should belong to me" , another George Jones Gem.
To me, these songs represent soulfull country music at its finest.
There are other examples, of course.

"I've Just Destroyed The World" - John Hughey backed by Conway Twitty
on the "She Needs Someone To Hold Her" album.
More to follow. Have to get ready for work now.
Most of the time I find the filler songs better than the "hit" songs on an album.

I'm showing my age, but on Ray Price's Nightlife album, the 24th hour knocked me for a loop. Jimmy Day was smoking (and he was using an echo effect, the only time I knew that he used any effects) The cut on this song should be a must learn for any intermediate student, IMO
[This message was edited by Jim Bob Sedgwick on 13 July 2002 at 06:58 PM.]

I spend a lot of time there in my mind,
and if God doesn't live in Colorado,
I'll bet that's where he spends most of his time"
