In defence of Shania

Post by Tony Harris »

Just been listening to the 'Come On Over' CD by Shania Twain, and reading complaints that 'it ain't country'. Well although it's got Paul Franklin, Bruce Bouton and John Hughey on there, I'll admit I can't hear much steel. But it's a great pop/rock album. Many of us grew up with rock n' roll, twangy guitar groups and the Beatles. Shania's album's full of good songs, nice guitar sounds and good licks from Dan Huff and Brent Mason...
Whatever you call it, it's a good album!

I never cared for her music too much. I kinda think she's a mediocre singer singing mediocre material. But seeing as the albums that I've played on have sold WELL under a million copies, what do I know?
