i've been lookin' in the "search" area for the threads concerning the T bone Burnette O'Brother soundtrack. and i have'nt found it!
anybody want to help me find 'em ?
a friend of mine told me T bone is related to the Burnette brothers from Tennessee.
the only song i know is "Train kept a rollin'" that the Yardbirds interpreted.
Who were the Burnette Brothers ?

The Burnette Brothers were Johnny and Dorsey. Johnny had some big hits in the pop rock field in the late 50's or early 60's like: Dreamin, Big, Big, World, and some others. Dorsey had a couple of hits like, Tall Oak Tree, Big Rock Candy Mountain, etc. Dorsey's son Billy Joe even did a stint with Fleetwood Mac and had a couple of minor country records of which I can't remember the names of now. They're both (Johnny & Dorsey) deceased now. Johnny died in a boating accident I believe and I think Dorsey died of a heart attack. I met Dorsey a few times and even got to play behind him Long Beach, Calif as he was in SoCal at the same time I lived and worked there. The Rock and Roll Trio which they both were a part of in the 50's (Train Kept a' Rollin) featured Johnny on rhythm guitar, Dorsey on upright bass, and Paul Burlison on electric lead guitar either Telecaster or Broadcaster I can't remember which. I hope this helps you. This is all from memory so there might be a few glitches but I don't think so...

The Rock N Roll Trio split about 1958, Burlinson went into the bar band scene for most of the 1960s and 1970s, while the Burnettes moved to CA and hung out with the likes of Ricky Nelson.
Jerry's spot on, Johnny drowned in a boating accident in 1964 and poor ol' Dorsey died in 1979.
Dorsey went country and cut a couple of good albums for Capitol Records in the 1970s.
Dorsey did record a version of 'Big Rock Candy Mountain,' the original version of which (from the 1930s, not by Dorsey) appeared on the O' Brother soundtrack.
That's about the only connection.
As far as I know T-Bone Burnette is not related to the Memphis Burnettes, he's a Texas cat who moved to California in around 1970 and formed a band with a group to Texas-Oklahoma bar band guys and rockers.
His first real big gig was when he played with Bob Dylan's band in the 1970s, then the Alpha Band, which led to his slow but excellent solo career.
He also works behind the consoles in the studio, he was doing this as early as the mid 1960s in Texas.
He's done a lot of Soundtrack work, but he was the main guy in charge of the music and selection for the Coen Brother's 'O' Brother Where Art Thou?' film and soundtrack.
Get in touch with Albert Vescovo; he played with them after he left Memphis. Paul Burlison stops in to see me from time to time; he lives in Southaven, Ms. when he is not touring with the Sun Studio Rhythm Section Band. I saw Paul a few months ago; I think he said their next tour is in the Far East. Hugh
Paul Burlison also toured Europe in October, 2000, with Johnny Burnette´s son Rocky. They played all the old tunes, and Rocky sings just like his late dad. Really a great show.
