For Tony Davis And/or Anne Marie o'keeffe
For whatever reason, I am no golfer but I realize many others on the Forum are so if I make some mistakes I trust they will bear with me or correct me. This is not about golf but a song dedicated to a golfer.
PBS had a show last night about the famous golfer Bobby Jones. He was a giant in that sport and designed the original Masters Course which has been in the foreground this weekend. He went in to law practice and then came down with a serious affliction that left him in a wheelchair.
To pay honor and tribute to the man, he was put in charge of some new youth golf activity and in accepting the position, he arose from his chair on his own will power and made it to the podium. At the end, as he slowly made his way back to his chair, a lone voice in the audience of 700 or more began to sing by himself and then the crowd arose and joined him in the is most beautiful tribute.
The song they sang to him came from Scottland or Ireland and I would like to know all the words to it, please, if anyone has them I would surely appreciate them.
WILL YE NO COME BACK AGAIN
Regards, Paul

Paul, that's a right famous Scottish tune..."Will Ye Nae Come Back Again". It is available on Amazon, and I found the music (but no words) on the web. Sorta like their "Auld Lang Syne", I guess.
[This message was edited by Donny Hinson on 14 April 2002 at 05:30 PM.]

Hey Paul!,
Sorry I dont often get time to come to this section of the Forum.....sure the song is Scottish.....I'm Australian but i have spent time in Scotland and Ireland when I was in the Navy........I just remember the song as being a sentimental song about coming back again....usually sung on New Years eve...or that is when I heard it...when everyone had had lots of beer...lots of Whiskey....all arms round each other singing these types of songs....usually around midnight...you know about half an hour before the punch up and everyone trying to kill each other!!!!!
I'll have a look through my aincient L.P.s see if I got it.
I will draw A.M's attention to this as she may know it...all though she professes only to like Country music!
Regards
Tony
