I have been with the same woman for 43 years. How many on the forum have had only one wife and is still married to her. If not, how many have you been married to. Is this any of my business? Not really, just courious.

Been married 37 years to that little girl I pushed off the teeter-totter when she was in first grade. I don't remember doing it, but then I don't remember much about fourth grade either.

The music biz is the toughest on marriages. However, I have spent the last 24 years with my wife (and we have a two year old--go figure...). I'm quite thankful.

It's true, Bobbe's been married so many times he has rice marks on his face. There's a bumper sticker around Nashville: "Honk If You've Been Married To Bobbe Seymour" Image Image

Me, I've been happily married for 8 years: 1974, 1978, 1982, 1986, 1989, and parts of 1991, 1994 and 1996.

But seriously, my wife Kathy and I have been happily married for almost 8 years, and 8 out of 23 is not bad!!! Image

I have been married only once and it will be for 19 years in March. I will be 39 in Feb. It pays to find the right one early on and that means finding a wife with the same core values you have...Like: she loves me and I love me! Image

I was married 4 times, the last one was for 32 years! I still miss her, I just couldn't keep my hands off the female fiddle player in a band I was in. Too bad, my ex had one helluva day job and really made me independent. I can't use my old line anymore " I don't care if you fire me, my wife's got a good job!"

I am still married to the same gal. Going on 32 years for us! First marriage for both of us. If she ever tried to leave I'd go with her! She can't get away from me that easy...No siiirrrreeee!

I think it takes a very special person to stick with a struggling, starving musician. Support comes in many different ways. An understanding wife is necessary, but her having patience may be even more important, especially during those times when she just don't understand us steel pickers!
Of course, those who know my wife knows that she can stand toe to toe and talk steel guitar with the best of them! (Maybe that's a side benefit from her being married to a steel picker for so long!)
"Thanks Honey! Now, can I have some money to buy a new....." Image

I really like being married to younger girls though, I can get the senior discount at Shoney's and they can get the childrens discount. Saves a lot of money! Went in with my latest sweetie and I ordered coffee and she just ordered a glass of wah-wah and the free sucker.
My last girlfriend was still in the fifth grade, she was from here in Tennessee, she was 33. Her father was a senior, same school. He met his wife at a family reunion. I have socks older than any of my wives! Guess it's time to change those too.
At least my latest and I have a lot in common. She makes a lot of money and I spend a lot of money. Is this ever a switch! I can hardly wait 'till she's old enough to get into the clubs to see me play.

Been married to the same gal for almost 47 years. She gave me 5 wonderfurl kids. 3 boys and 2 girls. Our kids gave us 12 grand kids. My quiver is full. My wife thinks I am great and that my playing is great. I could just play for her alone and she would very happy. I used music to supplement my fulltime job to provide for our family growing up. My wife has been so supportive I feel like I have been blessed with a real angel. I wish you could all say the same. I think our priorities are real important in our happiness in life. I feel some of mine have been right. By the way I love to play beautiful music on the steel guitar. It is one of the most satisfying things after sex there is.

This is what we all should have. I envy you Robert. This bliss seems to elude a lot of us.I'm going to give my "all" once more and see if I can find it myself. Someone my own age you ask? No, they are all dead!

Two hookers were talking and one asked "do you smoke after sex?" The other replied " I never looked to see".

Pat, so very much truth to your last post!
You are very right, as ever.
Leonard, she does not smoke after sex, she plays steel. Sort of a "laid" back style I think. (I can't remember)
