Post by David Biagini »

There's a nice article about Dale Watson in today's (1/4/02) Wall Street Journal weekend section.

Yes it worked and was very impressive.
I know Barry M and it was great to see a plug for No Depression

Steve, Thanks for the link, I called my neighbor at work on Sat Am, for him to save the paper, but he already recycled it.

Yes, I also liked the reference to 'No Depression, of which I think is the best music mag out there. The new issue is great.

"Why would a musician read the Wall Street Journal? "

It's the only way I can continue to afford and explore this hobby... being a musician. ;>)

Musicians have already discovered Dale Watson. Now it is time for the Wall Street Journal readers to discover him. BTW, I read the Wall Street Journal.

anyone who's familiar with Nat Hentoff knows he is one of the most respected names in music journalism, and other areas of journalism as well. The fact that his writing is included in the Wall Street Journal is no surprise to those of us who have read the Journal for years.

Mr. Watson? MISTER WATSON? And in the WSJ at that!

I was compeletely unaware of Dale's recent tragic loss that eventually spawned the new album. While ordering it this past weekend on Amazon, I checked out the reviews and learned of this. Where the hell was I? It must have been discussed here.

While I anxiously await my copy of the new CD, I want to express very belated condolences to Dale Watson, err excuse me, Mr. Watson.

I wish him all the best and how everyone will buy a copy of "Every Song I Write Is for You". The article indicates that proceeds go to his late fiancee's foundation.

Pretty damn generous for someone who doesn't make platinum records.
