I spent a long time searching the web to no avail.
I did not know Noel Boggs did a steel break in the song. Was he a member of the Sons of the Pioneers for a time?

I got these lyrics off a CD "The RCA Victor Years, Vol. 1". These are, I think, sort of later S'O'P' recordings, '45-'47. Believe me, if I'm an expert on any things in this world, this is not one of them. The liner notes say that Noel did a number of the sessions. He's all over this song--not knockout playing. Just sweet and just right.

The second to last line--'your love be blessed'--bothers me. I had to play it over and over and that's all it can be but it just wasn't making sense to me. I guess it must be right.

My uncle had the 78 of that song and I remember playing it a lot. Beautifull words.

(no "be" in the last line)

As Roy said, beautiful words. Come to think of it, the Sons of The Pioneers specialized in songs that had beautiful words! A few of my favorite SOTP songs are "The Timber Trail", "The Mystery of His Way", "Get Along Little Dogies", "Wagon Wheels", and of course "The Everlasting Hills of Oklahoma". I've been blessed by the music of the Sons of The Pioneers ever since I was a small boy. I can't hardly set foot in the woods or a cow pasture without vividly recalling their songs.

Now that we have the words has anyone got an MP3 ( for email attachment)or a site where the song in question can be downloaded.
I don't think this song is being distributed commercially now.

Tim--you are of course correct on those lyrics. I don't know how I went from the correct hand-scribble to the extra word in there in my keyboard transcription.

If anyone wants the mp3, you can email me. I don't want to get the forum involved in piracy issues. (The only CD version I can find is on a $95 box set).

Gene, you are right and wrong. The Johnny Wakely site is great and still going. Johnny was Jimmy Wakely's son and he passed away in December at age 57. His son Bob said the web site will continue. My Best To You is a great song. The Sons of the Pioneers wrote and recorded many wonderfully beautiful songs.
