My wife Kathy, and I are goin to the Opry the 8th of sept! I sure hope my favorite singer will be on the bill. I'm talkin about Connie Smith!!And I'd love to see Johnnie Cox! She's usually on every week, and I hope that week will be no exception!!
My wife and I went this past Saturday and saw the live portion as well as the rest of the show. It is very entertaining and I guarantee that you and Kathy will have a great time.
For a really nice restaurant (on another evening, perhaps) we found the Tin Angel north of Vanderbilt on the main road (the one that become Broadway downtown). Highly recommend. The Time Jumpers play at the Station Inn on Monday nights. Hoot Hester, one of the fiddle players is in the Opry house band. Johnny Cox who plays steel with Connie Smith is in the Time Jumpers band too. Dawn Sears who is married to Kenny Sears, the other 'Jumpers' fiddle player, sings a lights out version of Sweet Memories.
Have a great time!

Leigh, I hope she gets back from our county fair here in McConnelsville, Ohio for the Opry on Sat. night. We will be watching her here on Friday the 7th. (It's only an 8 hr drive- she'll probably be there)
Joe you have just made me lonesome! This time last year I was chasing around organising John and myself for our trip to St. Louis and as you just mentioned Nashville. Wasn't that a great night at the Station Inn. Luckily we video taped a lot of the show that night and have watched it many times since then......what a wonderful band the Time Jumpers are. We had such a great time in Nashville and of course visited the Opry and the Ryman Auditorium and were blessed to have Smiley Roberts as a tour guide. See what you've done now Joe.......you've gone and started me reminiscing......which means I have to plan another trip stateside! Well actually another trip is already on the cards but not this year.
Leigh, you and your good lady will have a great time at the Opry regardless of who is onstage, it's a terrific experience.
Deana,
Connie is scheduled at the Morgan county fair
the 8th of Sept. That is Saturday. That is
what the paper (Morgan County Herald) says. Anyway, nice to cya on here. Hope Johnny Cox is with her.
Joe.
That's great! Have'nt seen Tex for awhile.
I guess Connie Smith wont be at the opry the 8th. She's going to be in Ohio. But she's going to be about 45 min. from here the 22nd of Sept. You can bet I'll be there!! I'm looking forward to the trip! I have'nt seen Smiley in a long time. And you know I always look forward to seeing your smiling face, and hearing your golden throated vocalizing!!
Take care. See ya soon.
Jim- You are exactly right! I got myself all mixed up! The Ohio Valley Opry is there Friday night and Connie the next.
Sorry Leigh- she won't be at the Opry on the 8th.... Maybe she will be at the Fri night Opry.
Leigh:
Guess What? We didn't get to see her either-she had to cancel out by her doctors order, and is having some sort of throat problems, and we were told that she may have to have some kind of surgery. Hope she recovers soon!
Lee because of family coming down ( my daughter) and we were having so much fun she extended her visit so Nashville was out.Tex and I are still going up the 21st of this month so don't burn the place down having all the fun maybe we can make Hankeys bash together next year.
