Whew! Friday at last…

Last night I rediscovered my steel guitar instrumental CD’s. I’m in a job now that can really have it’s moments – you get it from all sides -- because of the enterprise-wide nature of the job. Everyone knows the feeling to some degree, more or less.

Anyway, I decided to bring in a handful of PSG instrumentals and put on the headphones when I’m not on the phone. It’s been a wonderful stress reliever and it carries over into meetings. Granted, I don’t tap my feet much when I’m away from my desk, but I’m calm.

It’s just a matter of time before people ask why and I have to share this great music with them. Today my lineup consist of John Hughey , Johnny Cox (Ballads, Shuffles and Swings), and Joan Cox (Not Bad for A Girl).

At one point I handed over headphones to a friend and said, “Not bad for a girl, eh?” – pointing to Joan’s CD jacket. Little did I know I was actually playing Johnnny’s CD. Anyway, Johnny, he agreed that you don’t play bad for a girl. Image

On deck I have Buddy Emmons (The Buddy Emmons Collection) and Bobby Lee ( Quasar Steel Guitar). I was in a cold sweat seaching the house for Joe Wright's "Steelin' The Country Classics". Apparently it's in my instructional stuff -- has rhythm tracks on the CD -- where it could get lost forever. I fetch it in on Monday along with The Herby Wallce Collection. Then I'll have the full set here at the office.

Thank you all for the wonderful music.
