Carol Kaye

Post by Drew Howard »

She is one of the, if not THE, top studio bass players (guitar, too), particularly in the '60's and '70's. Sessions with Motown, Sonny & Cher, Sinatra, etc. I came across her site yesterday and there's tons of photos (even one with her and BE), lots of studio memories, and a forum. Anybody remember her instruction books?

cheers,
Drew

Check out the list of hits she's played on, as both guitarist and bassist. I don't suppose any studio musician on any instrument has a more impressive resume. A really nice site, a worthy tribute to an amazing player.

I traded e-mails with Carol a few years back and she rivals Jody Carver as a source of fantastic stories. She remembered being on a session with Buddy Emmons and thought he was a great musician(as anyone with half an ear would!).

Bar Chatter is for topics about "Steel players and their music". I'm moving this topic to the Music forum.
