RIP Eddy Shaver

Eddy Shaver, son of and lead guitar player for the legendary Billy Joe
Shaver, died this weekend from an overdose in Austin. Billy Joe played a
show in Austin last night in his son's honor and Willie Nelson came
on-stage to play lead for him.

It's a really sad event, but I'm not shocked. I was around Eddy Shaver a couple of times and my impression of him was that of a very intelligent young man who unfortunately had some sort of hellhound on his trail.

A little older than that Jason, I read on the Shaver website that he was born in 1962 - still far too young

This is very sad news.Eddy seemed to me to be an inspiration for Billy Joe that led to a resurgence in his work.Condolences to Shaver family RIP Eddy.
