I was listening to Eddie Stubb's radio program on the internet today.He mentioned the great contributions the Wilburns have made not only to the music but also to various artists and the industry itself throughout the years. Unfortunatly, he was speaking of them in past tense, are they still around and do they still perform? Appreciate any info. Thanks...rj

Doyle passed away a few years ago and Teddy is not in good health.

I love their beautiful harmonies. They helped Loretta Lynn get her contract with Decca and Owen Bradley many years ago.

Teddy sings harmony with Don Walser on Don's latest CD "Here's To Country Music". They do the old Wilburn Bros tune "Arkansas". A very fine rendition. Teddy is still singing well, and having his voice in this tune really makes it reminicent of the Wilburns.

The Wilburn Brothers played a very important role in Loretta Lynn's career but she never mentions them. I have often wondered why?

When I first got to Nashville my first gig was playing bass with The Wilburn Brothers (thanks to Gregg Galbraith and Charlie Vaughn, two great guitar players). I know the Wilburn Brothers experience made me want to stay in Nashville, as they were extremely nice and accomodating. Best, Boomer
