Uh yeah, Bill I know what you are saying, but what about Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Wanda Jackson, Elvis, Bill Haley, Gene Vincent and just about all of his Blue Caps, George Jones, Wynn Stewart, Skeets McDonald among others, who recorded rockabilly, or rock and roll as well as country?

I know this isn't really a country topic, but at the same time it's closer than anything else.
Speedy West and Jimmy Bryant are some of the hottest jazz pickers I have ever heard, yet I only ever see them mentioned in country books and mags.

Hi Bob, it does look pretty cool, the only problemon my end is that with the Australian dollar being comewhere around the equivilent of a flat round US rock...well it's kinda out of my range.
Besides, it's probably best to save up for the Wynn Stewart box set if you lean more towards country.

Regards
Jason.

If we insist that country people define what country is, then let's let the jazz people define what jazz is. I love Speedy & Jimmy's stuff, but it ain't jazz by any stretch of my imagination. Their rhythm section and chord changes were always very square, from a jazz perspective.
