In 1961/62, when I was stationed in Taipei Taiwan (in the Air Force) I played in a band with a singer from Dallas that was on the Big D. That singer also was on the afternoon children's TV show in Dallas in the late 50's. The guy was (probably still is) and excellent singer. He'd probably be in his late 50's by now.
I don't remember his name and maybe someone on here remembers who I'm talking about.
There was also a steel player in the band from Beaumont. His first name is Bob (Bobby) and that's all I remember of him too. He had a doubleneck Fender and we modified it by drilling a hole through the tuning key head and added a pedal to it. We pulled two strings behind the nut, worked but strings didn't last long.
