Swarmin'

After hearing Winnie Winston's version in another thread, I sure would like to see some tab for this tune. Anybody?

I don't have it either. I really wasn't requesting that you tab it. I was just wondering, as a Lloyd Green fan if you had ever "attempted" playing it yourself. Believe me, I know you're busy.

When Winnie Winston passed away, there was an MP3 posted of him playing that song. I learned there that it was a Lloyd song, thought it sounded cool, anytime I think of Lloyd, I think Ricky Davis.......You see the connection? But No, I wasn't trying to impose on anyone's time in any way.

By the way, I hope the projects that are taking up all of your time are recording projects.......I'm lookin' forward to some new Ricky stuff as well.

Hey Robbie; no problem my brother and as big of a Lloyd Green Freak as I am...I can't believe I haven't heard it...>maybe I have heard it but just not remembering the name??
Yes I've been extremely busy with Golf and Sessions and Gigs and restorations..>there is just not enough time in the day man...ha...
We just finished cutting a country version of the Elvis Costello song "Alison"; with Dane Sterling singing and it's KIller Man....> and that's been a lot of what I've been doing....a song here and song there with various folks around town. Everyone seems to be doing these little 4/5 song ep things...ha.
Good luck finding tab on that one....>oh and I can't tab Lloyd anyway...it's tooooo hard..ha.

Ricky,
Can you post an mp3 of "Alison"?
That's always been one of my favorite songs.

Lynn Owsley has done this song with us at our FSGC jam round-robins many times.
If I remember correctly it went I, II, V and we did it in the key of G and used the BC pedals for most of the song.
This is the best I can do for you from memory.
Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the help Don. It's not so much the chords as it is picking style. I really never heard anything quite like it before. I just wanted to try and capture a tiny, little piece of it. I'm really kind of a new or reborn Lloyd Green fan. I listened to everything over the years. I finally found a copy of the Charlie Pride "Live At Panther Hall" reissued on CD. That was it for me!

Hearing the MP3 of Winnie Winston playing "Swarmin" at the convention just pushed me over the edge! If you've ever had a chance to study Lloyd's set up, he doesn't have a ton of levers or odd changes. Just taste and a whole lot of talent.
