I've been trying to find it in C6. I have found it, but only as part of a collection, and seeing as how I have a crippling mortgage, I can't really afford it.

I have been wanting them too. I had a guy show it to me slow and I tried to write it down. I hope to have it on tabs soon and will get you my copy.
But in the mean time if you have gotten it please email it to me - I have fax too.
Thanks Joe

I think J.D. Maness and Lloyd Green played E9 versions of Panhandle Rag at the 2000 ISGC . The song worked very well on E9 , worth working out .

I played this tune in "C" years ago on C6th. Lots of open strings and hammer-ons as I recall. That was before I put a 'D' on top. It was kind of hard to play after that and I gave it up for lost.
Then a few weeks ago our our new fiddle player launched into it in "A". I hadn't played it in years. Believe it or not it falls right into place on C6th in "A". I now play it as an instrumental in "A" and love it. It's great fun.
The "A" blues (snake) scale makes it a snap on C6th and very faithful to the older versions on this great Western Swing standard.
Try it...you'll be amazed. I was.
Good Luck,
bUd

Dick Meis just added this one in E9th to his song library. Check it out at
www.pedalsteelguitar.net
Dick is a Denver Pro that can really play some pretty Jimmy Day style steel.
