My Next Broken Heart Solo

Post by Steve Stallings »

This is a song which I've been playing for a long time. When I sat down to tab it out with my trusty digital recorder, I realized that I'd been nowhere near the part Bruce Bouton played on the original. I've tried to capture this as well as I can. This is great stuff, and if anyone ever doubted Mr. Boutons honky tonk credentials, well... My hat's off to you Bruce Image

Here is an attempt I made quite some time ago. I don't have a recording, so I had to come up with something at practice one evening. The first two lines are all triplets.

Lee.... If you look at the third line of tab up above, you'll see how I interpret the ascending run. When you slow it down, you can hear him sliding the first part of each triplet. I think the digital recording transcriber is the neatest thing to come along in years! Image
