Miles of Files

Post by Jerry Dragon »

I just happened to pop in a thumb drive from my last days at work. On it are a ton of drawings for PSG parts with dimensions, there are also Mastercam programs I have written I can no longer open. If you have a way to open them.... I also have CNC G code programs and set up sheets that I used to make fingers, belle cranks, pedals, covers etc. I can post them I think if anyone is interested. Stuff like this, the partial G code for an emmons pedal op1. I have the set up sheets with pictures but haven't figured out how to put it here. I have drawings with dimensions for generic parts. When I was done with the pedal I had it down to making a pedal in eight minutes but that was with state of the art equipment. The attached file of the pedal drawing is not this pedal. If you use any of this you are doing so at your own risk. These machines can kill you lol.

I took the set up sheet and saved it as a PDF, it should be uploadable now.

This would all be great info/files to add to the ‘historic vault’ sticky thread they opened for design info. If you know what models the parts correspond to that would be useful to add but even if not I think it’d be valuable.

Most of those drawings came from a CD for a generic PSG. The G code and set up sheet are for an Emmons pedal I think. I am not really a PSG player but a guitar player who owns two and hacks on them. Some folks on the board here would send me parts and I would just copy them. I don't really remember which manufacturer I was copying. I made fingers, bell cranks, pick up covers, knee levers. A gent in NY sent me a bell crank to copy, here is the blueprint I made up, I am pretty sure it was either Emmons or Sho~Bud. Someone will know from the drawing? All dimensions are from centerline of the center hole and symmetrical. There are some dimensions left out. I drew it in mastercam and didn't need to put them on for a quote.. I didn't charge the gent anything if I remember correctly, just submitted it to a friend of mine for a quote to see what it would cost. I am retired six years now and that G code is making me dizzy lol. I was really good at it.

Maybe you could upload a sample 3d file to see if anyone can open it.

I think it would be a good idea to post as much as you feel you can. I know a bit of AutoCAD, and an even smaller amount of MasterCAM, which I've never used. But most CAD programs open DWG files; I've long since forgotten what little I knew about MasterCAM and how it saved files as. (I've jsut looked it up on the MasterCAM website, and they're saved as MCX - I don't know what CAD or other CAM software can read those.)

Thanks for sharing this, Jerry.
Since there is historic value to these files, I've upped this thread into a sticky.
PLEASE all just keep to constructive collaborations so the thread retains it's usefulness for future searches.

Thanks!... J-D
