“new” Waylon music with Moon!

Post by scott murray »

Waylon’s son Shooter is releasing 3 albums worth of unheard material his dad recorded between 1973-84, later this year.

today we get to hear Waylon’s take on the Christine McVie/Fleetwood Mac tune Songbird. Mr. Moon is strong in the mix with some gorgeous accompaniment and a simple solo. what a treat!

Yes, so great, Shooter is doing a service to us by releasing all these unheard songs!

Song bird is great, is that Mooney on steel, not sure.

Looking forward to all the material, love Waylon.

I'll be curious to find out who it is on steel. To me, it doesn't sound like Moon, but I'm far from being an expert at the "NAME THE STEELER" game.

Shooter says it’s Moon. did anyone else play steel with Waylon between 73-84? there's a couple moves that are distinctly Ralph to my ears

the tone reminds me of Neil Young’s Old Ways album from 85, check it out. Moon's on 5 of the 7 songs with steel

Didn’t Fuzzy Owen’s play in that time frame?
