Emmons Push-Pull History Question re: Pedal Size/Spacing

Post by Chris Bauer »

Probably a dumb question to diehard push/pull fans but here goes... Was narrow pedal/wide spacing only available on certain push pull versions or during certain years of p/p manufacturing or were they always an option?

Chris

All PPs in the 60’s had the ‘wider’ pedals

I think the ‘narrow pedals’ / wider spacing then followed at some point in the 70’s ( unsure which specific year )…..no option.

As I’m sure you know, due to undercarriage cross shaft spacing, the pedals & pedal rack are not interchangeable from wide pedals to narrow pedals - or vice versa

From early 80’s on, a few PPs were issued with the LeGrande style pedals…..as an option for the ‘narrow cast pedals’

Someone will most likely respond with more definitive info….

Take care,
Ron

I don't think there was a narrow pedal/wide spacing period. I do know that the 1972 region briefly had wide pedals (fourth version of the "wide pedals) with narrow spacing -- meaning there was room for ten pedals on the front apron.
