I just picked up another Excel SD10.. it has a torn up pad I want to remove..not sure how it’s attached, nothing evident underneath, must be glued? Anyone done this? Mahalo Larry :?:

On my Excel the pad was just glued down. I replaced it with another slightly thicker pad and just used velcro to hold in place.

I just carefully pried it off. It was kinda lose anyway.

yes, it's clued on with a thick transparent material. Very tough. But with patience it does come off. Be careful with a knife, you don't want to scratch the mica beneath.

I wouldn't try to remove it "chemically", although mica is very chemical resistant.

Got it done.. Super strong 2-sided tape..not easy.. :D
