Where Are the New Sho-Buds being built
With the recent news of new Sho-Bud steels, I wonder where they're being built. I'd love to try out one of the new models at some point because I've never played a Sho-Bud-I play Jackson, but would love to see how the new Sho-Buds are.

I don’t think anything about Jackson guitars is changing other than the name on the front.

I just went to Jackson's website. The site has Sho-Bud and aces now. They do not show a physical address. But the 310 area code is Los Angeles County, California.

I know Dawn Jackson's usually around California, Georgia and Tennessee. David and Harry Jackson build steels in Harry's garage in LebanonBobby D. At the recent Vancouver Cryin' Time pedal steel convention, Andrea Whitt was there representing Sho-Bud and my understanding from her comments is that there will be multiple locations (positioned strategically around the USA ...) assembling instruments. Sorry I don't remember the specific cities.

Waiting patiently now. I'm just excited to see Sho-Bud coming back! At this point in time David is building cabinets and assembling guitars in Georgia. Harry makes many of the parts at his shop near Nashville. The new Sho~Bud is not a Jackson with a different label. The Pro V I saw in Dallas had a gumby keyhead and sounded more like the older Buds. The Maverick is a pull/release of very high quality. I believe there is more coming.

Thank you for answering, Johnny. With Sho-Bud coming back, I was curious to find out where they would be built. I would love to try out a new Sho-Bud since I've never really played a Sho-Bud, and the Sho-Bud Pro V in the pictures I saw of the Dallas show looked awesome! I'm glad Sho-Bud is back!

Here is the Pro V that Johnny referenced, we were in the room when he was trying out and it sounded fantastic and it's a beautiful guitar. Pictured is Bode Barker, Jr, a fine young player who posted during the show that he is now a Sho-Bud endorser.

Why don't they build a round front? Looks so much better.
Not saying that this one looks bad....

Re: Where Are the New Sho-Buds being built
One of my first pedal steels was a 1975 sho-bud. Without a doubt it was the best sounding steel I've ever owned....but ....
The hum drove me crazy from the single coil pickups. And the mechanics were inconsistent. Sometimes the a pressed pedal came back to pitch when released....sometimes it didn't. In the end, I sold it. I'm assuming the mechanics in these new shobuds is much improved. But how do you get the shobud sound without also taking on the shobud "hum". To me it isn't a trade off I'm willing to reconsider.

Looks great except the price tag on the leg.
