Extended C6 tuning
I've decided to change my Rose from D13 to an extended C6 tuning. I've incorporated both a D and G on top, Buddy's C6, some Paul Franklin stuff, and some Jimmy Day C6 changes into a 12 string 8x4 C6 tuning.
Check it out. Let me know if you have any suggestions or comments before I start the work.

Re: Extended C6 tuning
very nice. That could keep you busy for a lifetime or two...
I've experimented with having both G and D on top, by losing low C on a 10 string set up. Its a nice bright tuning. Among many other things, that old school G to G# on P5 is very useful for 'one below' tritone subs. For example, at fret 11 you can get a beautiful Db9#11 chord that resolves to C, up one. Having the fifth and ninth available on top of the tuning is great. Also that G# change gives you a very useful maj7 on top of A6 with pedal 5 & C's raised....

Yeah, the Maj7 on pedal 5 with C's raised was the first thing that popped out for me. I've also included the Franklin C to B on my new pedal 7 which puts the major 7 on the bottom. And I got rid of verticals!!! which being short was always a pain. And the second LL needed for the D13. I like it's simplicity and yet the power of it.

Re: Extended C6 tuning
If it were me, I would make the following changes:
I would switch pedals 4 & 7 (edited to change p6 to p7). I use the reverse pedal 6 with pedal 5 just like using 5 & 6 together.
I would get rid of the D on string 8. It will mess up chords that have your thumb raking upwards to get multi-string chords. If I needed that D note there, I would either add a vertical lever to raise string 9(on your chart, but string 8 normally) to D or lowering the E to D. I personally don't find a need for a D there. But, you might.
! would have string 1 as a D, 2 as a B and 3 as a G. Facilitates fast picking with minimal bar movement on the high strings, similar to the first 2 strings on E9.
I use your P8 G to F on a lever as I use it with pedal 6 a lot to get rid of the 9th tone on string 6. It can be "squeezed" in to the 9th, and lowered to get rid of the 9th to add some movement.
Whatever you need should dictate your setup. Good luck on the rework.

Re: Extended C6 tuning
Thanks Richard.
I've incorporated your changes. I was a bit confused by your moving of the reverse 6 pedal but I think you meant move the reverse 6 pedal to the first position and the A-B raises to the new P6 position so that my pedal 2 (normal pedal 5) is bookend by pedal 6 and reverse pedal 6 . Attached are the new changes

Yup, that's what I meant to say. It's been a bad day.

Re: Extended C6 tuning
I like it.
I raise my string one D to D# on the same lever as I lower the G string to F. I never understood putting it on the "boo wah" pedal (I need to investigate it as I see several players doing it). Having the D# on a lever allows (with p6) me to have a full F7 chord with a 7th in high register. It wouldn't hurt to have both. .

Re: Extended C6 tuning
Well, I can’t make any more changes at this point or Dave Grafe will kill me.
(He is doing the work. Highly recommend his work for those in the Hudson Valley area who need work done.)
