McMickin
I'm restoring this dobro. Really banged up, but it was built pretty well. Sound well and neck stick.
Anybody know anything about this guy? Can't find a thing.
Cheers,
BJ

Re: McMickin
I haven't seen this model before. Did it have a resonator cone under the cover plate?

I won't swear to it, but this looks much like the first 'dobro; I ever bought back in the early '70s. I was so uninformed I couldn't grasp why my 'dobro' didn't sound like the ones on the records....until I learned that mine had a paper cone - like a speaker.

Yup, dobro style cone and #14. Regal used this style cover much earlier on wood and metal guitars. I guess that it was a small shop that didn't go the distance. Nicely made, but ruined since. The tailpiece cracked off a piece of the top and moved the ring into the cone. The stick had two snapped screws preventing it from adjustment.
It'll work, but won't be pretty. Fits the bill fine.
BTW, the software update is working great. Thanks to all. Donation sent.
