Rebuilding Lapsteel
Hello, my name is Terrie Brewer my friends call me “Mr. T” I’ve followed STEEL GUITAR FORM for the last six months now and like the way you ‘all teach and comment. I’ve been in the music business since 1963, yep 62 years. And they have been good to me. I play about every instrument with strings and recently I had an urge to try the Dobro and now Lap Steel. I am particular about my sound however; I purchased an inexpensive Double neck six string Lap Steel from Amazon. It really sounds good after I did some luthier work to it. But now I am in the prosses of rebuilding my lap steel. I want to use the EMG system as my pickups. I can’t seem to find what I really want, so I’m reaching out to those in the steel guitar community to get some input. Attached you will find my lap steel design and my desired EMG pickup system. Can anyone help me to achieve my goal? Thank you for taking the time to read this and to look at my rebuild. Respectfully, Mr. T

Terrie, you could do a lot worse than getting the George Boards kit to replace the bridge and extend the scale.
