Body And Soul, Dan Baston

Post by Rich Sullivan »

My friend and fellow forumite, Dan Baston, posted a new recording on YouTube, which is well worth a listen. Maybe if he sees this, he will add details about the guitar, amp, etc.

That was fabulous! Really beautiful playing. I am curious about the tuning as well.

Rich, thanks for the plug and thank you guys for the nice compliments 🙂.

The guitar is a 1953 Bigsby T8 and the amp is a 1950's Soundmaster tube PA amp, modified for steel guitar by Skip Simmons. The tuning is A6, with 3 pedals, analogous with pedals 5,6,7 on a 'standard' C6 copedent.

I am pretty sure Ethan Shaw uses a similar tuning.

Very nice, Daniel. A beautiful song played on a vintage steel guitar and amp. That’s the real deal. Well done.
