One of my favorite players. He was a country player and could make a singer sound so good. True country music really misses Dicky. I know I do. I was fortunate to see him play a few times, and it was always great. Sometimes he was playing a Sho Bud and other times a push pull, but it didn't seem to make any difference, he knew how to get his tone. His tone had just enough "bite" to cut through. I first heard of him on Ronnie Milsap's live album. He did a simple slide on "Busy Making Plans" that made the song. The slide was a couple seconds, but he made it sound like it lasted forever. Sounded like the next was 6 feet long. LOL
