I picked up a Blattenberger 10 string lap steel last fall that has a repaired neck joint. The seller told me he owned it for years and it was stable and had not moved, but I'd like to look into getting it repaired. I don't believe Rex Blattenberger is still active, does anyone have any recommendations on who might attempt a repair on this piece?
A luthier who has done a lot of acoustic guitar neck resets would be best qualified…the whole trick will be removing the neck, possibly with heat and or steam and this process could leave you with more cosmetic blues….if the tone doesn’t change much when you press on the neck / the joint, you may want to live with it….
