Marcus King name-checks Buddy Emmons (edited)

Post by Frank Freniere »

Marcus King just name-checked Buddy Emmons on Clint Black’s interview show “Talking In Circles” on Circle TV. Marcus noted that early on he wanted to develop his own guitar style and mentioned Buddy as a source of inspiration. Pretty cool.

Here's the link. The Emmons reference is about 17:50. https://circlenow.circleallaccess.com/a ... mode=watch

Here's Marcus performing "Good Time Charlie." https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AHxu0BdaYDI

Could it be that you put up a wrong link. But still great! He's actually singing it as good as Danny O'Keefe, the composer.
There were two versions of it from the seventies. I had an album signed by him and it's still in my collection.

Naw, I really love the way Marcus does "Good Time Charlie" with such care and just wanted to share it (again).

So at what point in the video does Marcus actually mention Buddy Emmons?

Clean-up on Aisle 9.

I threw in “Good Time Charlie” as an example of Marcus’s musicianship. Sorry for the misdirection.

OK here's the proper link. Buddy is mentioned around 17:50 but I would listen to as much as the interview as possible. https://circlenow.circleallaccess.com/a ... mode=watch

Thank you Frank. What a guy!
BTW I've been to a Humble Pie concert back then.

Marcus mentions Humble Pie at the beginning, that's why.
