C6 Jerry Byrd in I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry

Post by Bert Farroach »

Hi lapsteelers,

I recently saw a topic from 2009 about the original Hank Williams recording of this song.
Jerry Byrd plays a real modest part, but you can hear he's in C6.
I've tried to write out his sections in a tab.
So there's 4 parts:
- the intro
- the solo (in which there's an edit at 1:12, I discovered)
- a short fill before the violin solo
- the last verse, chord notes deeper in the mix, but I think I caught most of it.

And it's said so many times, it's impressive how smooth it's all played !
Maybe a little exercise for some of you, I hope.

The original recording used is here: https://youtu.be/4WXYjm74WFI

The former topic is here: viewtopic.php?t=159756&sid=8e4c7b6ce2ab ... 30f08bf905
(and read the Doug Beaumier comment)

Enjoy!
Bert
